Verium has successfully closed a continuation vehicle worth over CHF 130 million for the Sequotech group. As part of the transaction, Sagard Private Equity Solutions is participating as an institutional investor, while Verium investors and Sequotech employees will continue to benefit from Sequotech’s future growth. Sequotech, with nine companies and more than 350 employees, is emerging as one of the leading IT services groups in the Swiss market. Since Verium’s investment in 2020, the group has grown significantly—both organically and through acquisitions—and has continuously expanded its market position. The entry of Sagard Private Equity Solutions as an institutional investor marks the beginning of the group’s next phase of growth.
The continuation vehicle brings together existing and new investors and provides significant additional capital for the implementation of future growth initiatives. The transaction therefore represents an important milestone in the further development of Verium’s direct investment strategy and, at the same time, lays the foundation for another phase of sustainable growth for Sequotech—supported by a strengthened and institutionalized investor base. Furthermore, the transaction enables existing investors to realize attractive returns while also participating in Sequotech’s continued value growth.
The focus is on continuing the successful buy-and-build strategy as well as making targeted strategic investments in organic growth and the further development of group-wide expertise to offer customers a comprehensive range of IT services. Companies in Switzerland and Germany are facing increasing demands in the areas of compliance, cost optimization, and digital transformation, including cybersecurity. At the same time, the structured and secure use of data-driven technologies continues to gain importance, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence, for which the necessary foundations must be laid to ensure its productive application.
Positioned in this structurally growing market, Sequotech’s business model is characterized by a high proportion of managed services and strong customer loyalty driven by a local presence, with significant additional potential for synergies and scale. A particular focus is on further strengthening the SME segment and expanding specialized IT services for large enterprises. Sequotech has a highly motivated management team and key employees with broad expertise, providing an excellent foundation for systematically tapping into this potential and further expanding its market position.
Daniel Neuhaus, CEO of the Sequotech group, explains: “With Sagard Private Equity Solutions, we are gaining a strong partner to consistently drive forward our two-pillar strategy in the Swiss market. For the SME segment—the backbone of our economy—we continue to offer comprehensive 360-degree IT that combines local presence with the best customer experience. At the same time, this partnership strengthens our impact on the enterprise segment, particularly in regulated industries and the public sector. Here, we bring deep technological expertise and continuous innovation directly to companies. As a group, we combine consistent customer focus with scalable delivery capabilities and the highest level of service excellence.”
Stephanie Roller, Partner for Direct Investments at Verium and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sequotech group, emphasizes: “Since Verium founded Sequotech, the group has developed very positively, with revenue exceeding CHF 85m. Over the past few months, the newly strengthened group management team has worked with us to launch the next phase of the company’s development. The transition of this high-quality, high-growth company into a continuation vehicle offers a compelling investment opportunity for existing and new investors. We are very pleased with the long-standing support of our investors—including Verium investors, founders, add-on sellers, and nearly 80 key employees—and are proud to have Sagard Private Equity Solutions, a renowned institutional investor, on board.”
Philipp Scheier, Partner at Sagard Private Equity Solutions, who led the investment and will represent Sagard Private Equity Solutions on Sequotech’s board of directors, emphasizes: “Sequotech has grown rapidly in recent years, and we are very pleased to collaborate with Verium and a highly motivated management team to continue pursuing our joint growth path. Our experience in developing companies with a strong focus on buy-and-build, as well as our network, will support Sequotech’s growth in the coming years.”
